This role is responsible for operating, monitoring and maintaining the wastewater treatment plant and associated networks across the district. You will play a key part in protecting the environment, supporting public health and ensuring reliable wastewater services for our community.
About the role
As our Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator you will complete routine plant checks, record operational data, and respond to alarms or faults. You'll assist with pump station maintenance, blockage and overflow response and storm or emergency callouts. This role also involves supporting compliance monitoring and reporting. You will contribute to ongoing improvements, asset maintenance planning and safe, efficient plant operations.
About you
You are a practical and reliable person who takes pride in keeping essential services running smoothly. You are comfortable working outdoors in a range of conditions and have a strong focus on environmental responsibility. You bring either experience in wastewater, industrial plant, or mechanical and electrical systems, or the motivation to learn and build a career in the waters sector. You are organised, pay attention to detail, and are confident using basic digital tools to record information. Just as importantly, you're a team player who can also work independently, follow instructions, and take initiative when needed.
