Care Partners - Selwyn Village

About the Role

As a Care Partner, you'll work closely with residents to support their daily living, personal care, hobbies, and wellbeing, guided by The Selwyn Way values: Spirituality, Growth, Contentment, Belonging, and Resilience. You'll collaborate with clinical staff, volunteers, families, and fellow team members to create a warm, home-like environment tailored to each resident.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide personalised care to residents according to their preferences and care plans
  • Support daily activities such as personal hygiene, meals, hobbies, mobility, and outings
  • Assist with general housekeeping tasks, including laundry, cleaning, and meal provision
  • Administer medication when required
  • Take on rotational coordinator responsibilities, including household coordination and rostering support
  • Complete accurate documentation and communicate effectively with families and the care team
  • Uphold health & safety standards, Selwyn Foundation policies, and a culture of continual improvement

About You

  • A minimum of two years' experience in aged care - rest home, hospital, or dementia care
  • Eligibility to work in NZ permanently
  • Level 3 or higher NZ Health and Wellbeing qualification
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills
  • IT literate with ability to update resident notes electronically
  • Professional, compassionate, and resident-focused
  • Willingness to participate in ongoing professional development
