Stand Tū Māia is seeking an exceptional Village Team Leader to join our Kahukura Ora Service. We provide a bi‑cultural, trauma‑capable, holistic alternative to state care,supporting tamariki and whānau on the edge of care. The vision of Stand Tu Maia is that tamariki and whānau who experience multiple forms of adversity will have their safety and wellbeing restored and preserved for future generations. To this end our services strengthen family relationships, support the development of child and adult self-regulation and core executive skills, and work to reduce sources of stress.
Our specialist service is tailored to children (mainly 5-12 years) and families at high risk of poor life outcomes, many with previous system involvement. At the heart of our mahi are healing relationships, cultural humility and a commitment to Te Tiriti‑led whānau restoration.
What you'll bring
We welcome applicants from any registered relevant profession with:
- Understanding and valuing of Te Ao Māori
- Ability to lead in a bicultural environment and sustain commitment to the promise of equity laid down by Te Tiriti
- Capability to lead others to deeply engage, motivate and offer consistent kindness to tamariki and whānau
- Proven ability in working with complex group dynamics
- Knowledge and ability on how to address the impacts of trauma on child development and attachment
- Belief in the importance of teamwork, partnership and collaboration
- Commitment to, and competence in, line-management and Post Grad or Masters level qualification in professional supervision would be an advantage
- Enjoyment of working in an inter-disciplinary team sharing tools and theories to inform and continually improve practice
- Ability to work shift patterns
- An eye for detail and valuing of clinical governance relating to practice observations, incidents, and managing risk
- Relevant registration and current practicing certificate
- Full driver's licence
