The Opportunity
We're seeking an experienced and values-driven National Finance Manager to lead our financial strategy, planning and stewardship.
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive and working closely with the Board, this is a pivotal senior leadership role. You will help shape the financial direction of a national organisation committed to making a lasting difference in the lives of children and families.
This role calls for someone who combines strategic insight with hands-on capability, a leader who can see the big picture while ensuring the detail is right.
What You'll Be Responsible For
As National Finance Manager, you will lead budgeting, forecasting and long-term financial modelling, ensuring clear visibility of performance and proactive management of cashflow. You will oversee financial reporting, internal controls, audit processes and compliance, while preparing annual financial statements and engaging directly with the Board on financial insights and investment oversight.
Beyond the numbers, you will lead and develop the finance team, oversee core systems including SAGE 300 and iPayroll, and manage organisational assets such as insurance and leases. Your role will be both strategic and operational,ensuring discipline, clarity and confidence in every financial decision.
About You
You are a seasoned finance leader who brings both strategic oversight and operational depth. You understand how to balance long-term sustainability with day-to-day financial discipline, and you're confident providing clear, trusted advice at executive and Board level.
You'll bring:
- CPA (or equivalent) qualification and strong knowledge of accounting standards and legislation
- Proven experience leading a finance function in a complex organisation
- Strength in cashflow management, forecasting and financial modelling
- The ability to translate financial data into clear, practical insights
- A collaborative leadership style that builds trust and capability within teams
You are steady under pressure, comfortable navigating complexity, and willing to be hands-on when required. Most importantly, you recognise that strong financial stewardship underpins the stability and success of the wider organisation.
