Senior Advisor Digital Communications

Environment Southland

From Fiordland's peaks to Rakiura Stewart Island's shores, we work alongside our community to care for Murihiku Southland's land, water, air and coast, ensuring a thriving environment for the future.

We are now looking for a skilled and motivated Senior Advisor Digital Communications to join our Communications and Partnerships team. This is a newly created role and a great opportunity for someone who enjoys turning ideas into engaging digital content that informs, inspires and connects people with the work we do.

This role plays a key part in strengthening how we communicate with our communities, partners and stakeholders. You will take a lead role in shaping and delivering digital campaigns and content across our channels, making sure our stories are clear, compelling and aligned with our wider strategy.

In this role, you'll be:

  • Leading and managing our social media channels to align with our digital strategy and wider communications goals.
  • Supporting organisational objectives across digital platforms, as well as traditional channels such as print and radio.
  • Planning, creating and delivering campaigns that contribute to Environment Southland's strategic direction.
  • Providing expert advice on digital initiatives and best practice.
  • Using analytics, trends and insights to guide decisions and improve performance.
  • Monitoring and reporting on the effectiveness of our digital channels.
  • Managing and delivering website content with a strong focus on user experience, accessibility and search engine optimisation.

We're looking for someone who brings strong digital communications experience, good judgement and a collaborative approach to their work. A confident communicator who enjoys working with others, takes pride in high quality content and knows how to use digital channels to make a real impact.

You'll also understand the importance of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and our partnership with Ngāi Tahu ki Murihiku, helping ensure our communications reflect and respect these commitments in all that we do.

In return, we can offer a supportive workplace, flexible working arrangements and the chance to make a real impact in one of the most beautiful and unique regions in Aotearoa.

If this sounds like the opportunity for you, visit:
