About the Role

Stratford District Council is recruiting for an Asset Information / GIS Officer - 3 Waters to join the team.

In this role, you will be responsible for administering and maintaining Councils asset information across the Asset Management System and the Geographic Information System. You will manage data entry, validation, verification and retrieval for all 3 Waters assets, ensuring information is accurate, consistent and readily available to support long term planning and operational decision making. The role also involves working closely with engineers, contractors and staff to resolve data quality issues, capture new asset information and provide reliable mapping and analysis when required.

This position is full time (40 hours per week), based at the Stratford District Council, Miranda Street, Stratford. The salary range for this position is $82,000 to $92,000 per annum, with the starting rate based on the skills and experience of the successful candidate.

About You

You will have strong understanding of GIS and asset information management, supported by relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience. You will bring experience working with asset databases, GIS platforms and field data capture tools, ideally within a council or similar asset focused environment. Your ability to analyse information, identify data gaps and work collaboratively with contractors, engineers and system users will be essential to your success in the role.

You have the confidence to provide guidance and technical support to others, including training staff in the use of asset management systems and mobile tools. You take pride in producing accurate information, have great attention to detail, and enjoy working in a role where you are contributing directly to the effective management of important community infrastructure. A current New Zealand driver licence is required.
