Great decision-making skills? Former alcohol licensing experience? We are calling for applications from persons interested in making alcohol licensing decisions to be part of Kaipara Licensing Committee.
The District Licensing Committee is responsible for determining all alcohol licences and manager's certificates in Kaipara. We are looking for applicants with strong skills and experience, including:
- relevant alcohol licensing experience in previous roles
- demonstrated knowledge of the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012 and how it is applied
- highly developed decision-making skills and investigative ability
- demonstrated knowledge of the hearing process
- an understanding of Kaipara communities and their expectations around alcohol licensing
- strong oral and written communication skills
- some knowledge of alcohol-related harm in Kaipara.
Please note that applicants must not have any involvement, or the appearance of involvement, in the alcohol industry or alcohol retail business.
Applicants should be prepared for flexible working hours, noting that this is not a full-time role. Successful candidates will be contracted to Kaipara District council and will not be employees of the council. Work will be on an ‘as required' basis at the remuneration rate set by the Minister of Justice for a term that expires in June 2026.
Preference will be given to candidates that live in the Kaipara area/region.
