Customer Experience Representative

About the role:
As a Customer Experience Representative, you'll be the friendly face and voice for our community — helping residents feel supported, informed, and confident when they connect with Council.

This is full time role, Monday to Friday 8.30am - 5.00pm.
What you will be doing:
- Deliver outstanding frontline customer service across phone, email, and in‑person channels including driver licensing to driver & vehicle licencing
- Confidently handle enquiries, resolving issues at first point of contact wherever possible
- Maintain strong knowledge of Council procedures, regulations, and legislative requirements
- Support customers with services for external agencies, including driver licensing, Real Me identity verification, IRD number applications, and Super Gold Card photo ID
- Accurately record and refer enquiries that require follow‑up
- Handle customer information with care, ensuring confidentiality and security at all times
- Apply sound judgement and practical problem‑solving skills to resolve enquiries efficiently.
About you:
You're a calm, capable, and customer‑centred professional who enjoys helping people — even in challenging situations
You will bring:
At least 2 years' experience in a customer service role
- Proven ability to engage with a diverse range of customers and handle difficult conversations
- Excellent communication and people skills, with a genuine enjoyment of connecting with others
- The ability to learn quickly, adapt in a fast‑moving environment, and use new systems and technology
- High levels of self‑motivation, reliability, and flexibility, with a proactive mindset
