Fleet Coordinator (Part Time)

Whangarei District Council

Here at Whangārei District Council we take genuine pride in having one of New Zealand's most welcoming and supportive work environments. Our organisation is small enough for independent work to be valued, and big enough to make an impact within our community. We're a key player in ensuring the District continues to prosper and to support us in this mahi we are looking for an experienced Fleet Coordinator to work 20 hours per week from our purpose-built city centre offices.

Ideally working 20 hours per week over 4 or 5 days, the successful applicant will be responsible for managing our vehicle fleet, arranging all maintenance and compliance activity as well as ensuring our fleet policy is being applied and consistently adhered to. To be successful in this role you'll need to ensure that vehicles are available for staff use without negative impact on service delivery. Retention and disposal of fleet in line with organisational policy will also be a key focus so previous experience or understanding of fleet management would be an advantage.

If you think you have what it takes to be successful in this role and are eager for us to consider your application you will need to be able to demonstrate the following attributes:

  • Solid experience in business administration or logistics.
  • Ability to develop strong working relationships across the business that aid effective collaboration.
  • Ability and demonstrated experience of working within and applying policy and contract requirements.
  • Some understanding of financial reporting, budgeting and requirements.
  • Ability and desire to work in a manner that is consistent with our organisational tikanga including some degree of flexibility to meet the demands of the role.

At Whangārei District Council we offer a range of flexible working and life balance options for those that want to work in a professional and progressive environment while still having the time to take advantage of everything our district has to offer.

There's a lot that'll make you 'Love it Here!'
