Digital and Channel Advisor
Environment Southland
At Environment Southland, we know that strong digital communication and effective channels play an important role in helping people connect with the work that protects and enhances our region.
From the mountains of Fiordland to the coastlines of Rakiura Stewart Island, we work alongside our communities to care for Murihiku Southland's land, water, air and coast for future generations.
Sharing these stories in creative, engaging and meaningful ways helps people better understand the work we do and the difference it makes across the region.
Due to an internal promotion, we are now looking for a motivated and creative Digital and Channel Advisor to join our Communications and Partnerships team.
As a communications professional, you'll create high quality content that helps enhance Environment Southland's reputation through strong visual and written storytelling. You'll spend your time managing digital channels and using your writing, photography and videography skills to create accurate, engaging and impactful content.
No two days are the same, and you'll play an important role in helping shape how we connect with our communities, partners and stakeholders.
In this role, you'll help create and deliver content across a range of digital and traditional channels, ensuring our communication is clear, engaging and aligned with our wider organisational goals.
You'll be responsible for:
- Creating engaging written and visual content across digital and non-digital channels.
- Managing and supporting content across social media, website and other communication platforms.
- Using photography and videography to help tell compelling stories about the work we do.
- Supporting campaigns, promotions and communication activities across the organisation.
- Assisting with the delivery of internal and external communications initiatives.
- Helping ensure communication is accurate, timely and aligned with Environment Southland's brand and reputation.
We're looking for someone who brings strong communication skills, creativity and a collaborative approach to their work. You'll enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, have an eye for engaging content and be confident turning complex information into clear and accessible communication.
You will also understand the importance of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and our partnership with Ngāi Tahu ki Murihiku, helping ensure our communication and engagement practices reflect and respect these commitments.
In return, we offer a supportive workplace, flexible working arrangements and the chance to make a meaningful contribution to the future of Murihiku Southland.
