Land Sustainability Officer

As part of our Land Sustainability team, you will be part of the team helping us to shape and deliver our future regional river restoration programme.
We are seeking someone who enjoys building close working relationships especially with our rural community. Southland farmers look to us for advice on how they can reduce their environmental footprint and meet the challenges presented by new regulations. Our community groups and schools are an important avenue for sharing information and for receiving feedback on the work our organisation is doing. Kanohi ki te kanohi is our preferred style of working as we believe face to face interactions are integral to the work we deliver.
We'd like to welcome you to our team if you are a practical self-motivated person, with a tertiary qualification and one to three years of experience working with farm systems, strong communications skills and an understanding of land management (e.g. soil health, nutrient and riparian management) and resource management regulations.
Developing and promoting of good management practices for sustainable land management, with an emphasis on a community presence will be part of your role. And you'll support other teams at Council share information with our community.

An initial offer of remuneration will be made within the range $88,290 - $93,195.
