Freshwater Farm Plan Advisor

Environment Southland

Fixed Term until 30 June 2028

Our Community and Engagement group has a crucial role to play in promoting positive on-the-ground environmental change in the community. You'll be working to support the team with the many projects that are being delivered alongside our community. We do need you to have a positive can-do personality as we have some challenges ahead as the Council works to meet the community's aspirations and government requirements.

About you:

  • You'll have a tertiary qualification Tertiary qualification in agriculture / farm production systems or environmental management or minimum 4-5 years' experience in freshwater management or related fields.
  • A sound knowledge of all regulatory aspects of farm planning including all relevant rules in the Freshwater Farm Plan Regulations and the Southland Water and Land Plan, Appendix N as well as strong communication skills, with experience in engaging farmers and growers.
  • We are looking for the right person to support farmers and growers on their journey toward farm plan certification.

An initial offer of remuneration will be made within the range of $82,530. - $87,115.
