We have a permanent opportunity to contribute across a broad range of Environmental Health functions, including alcohol licensing, fulfilling District Licensing Committee (DLC) Secretary responsibilities, noise administration and compliance, food safety, and wider public health activities.

About the job

Based in Richmond, Tasman District Council is seeking an experienced and highly organised administrator to join the Environmental Health team. The team works closely together to support regulatory activities that protect public health, safety and community wellbeing.

Duties include:

• Coordinating alcohol licensing applications and supporting DLC processes, including acting as DLC Secretary
• Assisting with noise control administration and responding to service requests
• Preparing documentation, managing workflows and maintaining accurate records across all areas of Environmental Health
• Liaising with internal teams, external agencies and members of the public

This role is primarily office-based, with some field work, and is focused on delivering reliable, timely support to ensure regulatory processes operate smoothly and efficiently.

About you

You will have excellent customer service skills and the ability to learn fast. While the role involves supporting Environmental Health Officers, we are looking for someone who can also work independently, take ownership and demonstrate a high level of accountability.

The work is varied, and we don't expect you to be an expert from day one, full on-the-job training and support will be provided to help you develop and grow in the role.
