We have a fantastic opportunity for a Team Leader to join the Planning Leadership team in a full-time permanent role.

About the role

You will help ensure the Resource Consents function is delivered in an effective, efficient, timely manner while upholding best practise. While maintaining a high-quality standard of customer service with our communities is a key focus.

About you

You will guide and support your team through effective coaching and mentoring, helping each person grow and succeed. Create and foster a positive, inclusive environment where everyone feels empowered to bring their best selves to work.

You will pilot and assist the team to achieve shared goals, working within a values-driven framework that supports collaboration, trust, and continuous improvement.

To be successful in this role you will demonstrate:

  • Strong people leadership skills are vital to ensure the team is supported to provide high quality planning analysis and the day-to-day workload is effectively managed among the team.
  • Collaboration and building positive relationships with team members, peers, internal and external stakeholders will be crucial to the success of this role.
  • Strong background in resource consent planning, with at least five years of experience in a senior planning role.
  • Expertise in decision making on resource consent applications (within delegations) and managing any Environment Court appeals.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
