CCS Disability Action's vision is to see every disabled person/whānau hauā interwoven into the lives of their whānau and community.
We are the largest pan-disability support and advocacy organisation in New Zealand. Since 1935, we have been at the forefront of service provision, advocacy, and information sharing, working closely with disabled people / whānau hauā and their families across New Zealand.
Due to expansion of our Early Intervention Service, we have several opportunities for you to be a part of our dynamic team at CCS Disability Action, where you can contribute to an organisation dedicated to creating positive change. We have options for telehealth and flexibility to work from home are negotiable. The role is based in Whangarei, with the role covering Northland
About the Role:
- Community based - supporting children who have high communication and eating/drinking support needs and their whānau/families
- Working alongside kaiako to support inclusion
- Support successful transitions to school
- Support whānau/families to get early information, resources and support so that disabled children get the best start in life.
- Working as part of a transdisciplinary team with other specialists from agencies such as Child Development services, BLENNZ, Ko Taku Reo and Ministry of Education
About you:
We are looking for people who have:
- A recognised qualification in Speech-Language Therapy
- Eligibility for membership of NZSTA
- Applications from new graduates are welcome.
- Undergraduate paediatric dysphagia training and post qualification experience
- Experience working with preschool children in an interdisciplinary team environment.
- Experience with the implementation of Augmentative/Alternative Communication Systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and an ability to establish effective relationships with whānau/families, early childhood facilities and other agencies.
- Strong leadership and time management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and reporting skills.
- Full NZ driver's license.
