DIALOG Fitzroy Australia Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Senior Piping Designer to join our Engineering team in Brisbane. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects across the oil & gas, heavy industrial, dairy, energy, and manufacturing sectors, delivering practical, innovative, and high-quality engineering solutions for our clients.

As a Senior Piping Designer, you will play a key ole in producing detailed engineering designs, conducting site surveys, mentoring junior designers, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.

About the Role

You will be responsible for:

• Producing high-quality mechanical and piping designs and deliverables.
• Conducting site surveys and as-built dimensional assessments.
• Ensuring operational, maintenance, safety, and compliance requirements are incorporated into designs.
• Developing cost-effective, fit-for-purpose engineering solutions that add value to our clients.
• Applying industry codes, standards, legislative requirements, and client specifications.
• Working closely with clients, operations personnel, engineers, vendors, and project teams.
• Supporting business development opportunities and maintaining strong client relationships.
• Mentoring and providing guidance to intermediate and junior designers.
• Promoting and maintaining DIALOG Fitzroy's commitment to Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental excellence.

What We're Looking For

Essential

• Tertiary qualification (Diploma or Certificate) in Mechanical Engineering Design or related discipline, and 5+ years of relevant industry experience.
• Minimum 10 years' design experience in:
  • Oil & Gas
  • Heavy Industry
  • Dairy
  • Pharmaceutical sectors
• Advanced proficiency with:
  • AutoCAD Plant 3D (2018 or later)
  • AutoCAD (2018 or later)
  • Autodesk ReCap
• Strong understanding of:
  • Site surveys and as-built dimensional recording
  • Mechanical and piping design principles
  • AS/NZS Codes and Standards
  • Engineering drawing production and documentation requirements

• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.
• A proactive approach with a commitment to continuous improvement and safety leadership.

• Previous experience mentoring or leading junior design personnel.
• Experience working within multidiscipline engineering project environments.
