We're looking for two experienced and compassionate Caregivers to join us as House Leads (Senior Care Partners) at Selwyn Village.

This is an exciting opportunity to combine hands-on care with leadership, guiding a dedicated team while helping create a warm, safe, and vibrant home for our residents.

We have two roles on offer:

Role A

  • Wednesday to Sunday |1445-2315 |40h hrs per week

Role B

  • Wednesday/Saturday 0700-1515 | Sunday/Monday 1500-2315 |31 hrs per week

About the role

As a House Lead, you'll provide day-to-day leadership and support to your caregiving team while ensuring residents receive exceptional, person-centred care. You'll:

  • Lead, coach, and support a self-managed caregiving team
  • Foster a safe, welcoming, and engaging home environment
  • Partner closely with our Registered Nurses to provide guidance and clinical support
  • Coordinate roster changes, leave requests, and shift coverage
  • Facilitate team meetings and contribute to resident and family discussions
  • Welcome, orientate, and support new team members
  • Champion our Eden Philosophy by putting residents at the centre of everything we do

About you

You're an experienced caregiver with a natural leadership style, strong judgement, and a genuine passion for supporting older people.

You'll bring:

  • 3+ years' caregiving experience within aged care (Level 4 NZ Health & Wellbeing qualification, or working towards it, preferred)
  • Hospital-level and dementia care experience
  • Current First Aid Certificate
  • Proven medication competency and roster management experience
  • Leadership experience, including facilitating team meetings and taking minutes
  • Strong computer, administration, communication, and relationship-building skills
  • Empathy, resilience, and a firm but fair approach
  • Excellent organisation, time management, and attention to detail
  • Permanent NZ work rights
