Customer Support Advisor

Full-time opportunity Monday to Friday | Dargaville based
Are you calm under pressure, confident on the phone and good at helping people find the right information? We are looking for a Customer Support Advisor to join our supportive Customer Support team, providing friendly, accurate and professional support to customers across the Kaipara district.
This role is primarily phone based, so you will spend much of your day responding to customer enquiries, logging requests, providing clear information and helping connect people with the right Council services. There will also be reception and face to face customer service responsibilities, so the right person will be comfortable moving between phone, email, online and in person support.
About the role
In this role, you'll:
- Respond to customer enquiries by phone, email, online channels and at reception
- Provide information across a wide range of Council services, processes and systems
- Log, update and follow up customer requests so customers receive clear and timely support
- Process payments, complete daily banking tasks and support accurate record keeping
- Promote online self-service options and help customers use Council services with confidence
About you
We're looking for someone with excellent communication skills, a calm and customer-focused approach, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
You'll also bring:
- Experience in a busy customer service, contact centre, reception or administration environment
- Confidence handling high volumes of phone enquiries while staying calm, professional and helpful
- Strong computer skills, including confidence using phones, databases and Microsoft Office
- Good time management, attention to detail and the ability to work independently when needed
- Resilience, adaptability and a positive approach to supporting customers and the wider team
