Administrator - Roading (Contracts & Customer)

Join our Roading team and help keep Kaipara moving!
Our Roading team is seeking a highly organised and customer-focused administrator to join us as a Roading Administrator, Contracts and Customer. Based in Mangawhai or Dargaville, you'll support the delivery of essential roading services across the Kaipara district while building specialist knowledge in local government and infrastructure.
This is a diverse role that combines customer service, contract administration, financial coordination and business support. Working closely with contractors, customers and Council teams, you'll help keep projects moving, enquiries resolved and services delivered, all within a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same.
What you'll be doing:
- Supporting the administration and coordination of roading contracts, tenders and contractor performance reporting.
- Managing customer enquiries, service requests and complaints, ensuring issues are tracked and resolved efficiently.
- Coordinating the Roading inbox and helping connect customers, contractors and Council teams.
- Processing purchase orders, invoices, claims and other financial administration activities.
- Maintaining records, reports and documentation while supporting continuous improvement across the team.
What you'll bring:
You'll bring strong organisational skills, a customer-focused mindset and the ability to juggle priorities while keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes.
We're looking for someone with:
- 2+ years' experience in a customer-facing administrative role, ideally in local government, roading, or infrastructure
- Experience with contract or financial administration, including invoicing and claims
- An understanding of contract conditions, procurement, or tendering processes (desirable)
- Experience with database entry, reporting, and knowledge of Engineering Standards or Codes of Practice (desirable)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, and a full NZ driver licence with willingness to travel across the district
