Promotions and Ticketing Coordinator

((Part-Time - 0.6 FTE))

About the role

In this part-time role (0.6 FTE), you'll support the successful delivery of marketing promotions and ticketing services that connect our communities with the events and experiences that make Whangārei a great place to live, work and visit.

Working closely with the Events Marketing Lead, you'll play a crucial role in coordinating ticketing operations, supporting promotional campaigns, maintaining event information across digital channels, and helping deliver a seamless customer experience across Council venues, events and festivals.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating ticketing operations, event setup, sales monitoring and attendance reporting.
  • Managing Forum North ticket kiosk operations, including rostering casual ticketing staff.
  • Supporting event organisers and customers with ticketing enquiries and seating requirements.
  • Coordinating the distribution of promotional materials, marketing collateral and electronic direct marketing campaigns.
  • Scheduling and publishing event and venue content across websites, social media channels and digital platforms under the guidance of the Events Marketing Lead.
  • Assisting with reporting, invoicing and administrative activities across the marketing and ticketing function.
  • Contributing to a positive, collaborative team culture aligned with Council's tikanga, mission and values.

About you

We're looking for a highly organised and customer-focused team player who enjoys supporting successful events and delivering great customer experiences. You'll bring a proactive, solutions-focused attitude, strong attention to detail, and a collaborative approach to achieving shared team goals.

To be well set up for success in this role - ideally, you'll bring:

  • NCEA Level 3 qualification or equivalent.
  • At least two years' experience in an administrative, customer service, events or junior marketing role.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience using social media platforms, websites or other digital channels.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Confidence working with databases, ticketing systems and reporting tools.
