Vehicle Inspector
Vehicle Inspection NZ
Good with Vehicles? We've Got a Job Worth Inspecting.
Light vehicles, heavy vehicles or anything in between, if you know your way around them, VINZ wants to hear from you.
You've spent years fixing vehicles. Now you could get paid to decide whether they're fit for the road, without being handed a mystery rattle and told, "It only started making that noise yesterday."
At VINZ, we'll help you turn your mechanical knowledge into a recognised vehicle inspection career, with paid training, genuine development opportunities and a crew that knows how to get the job done without taking themselves too seriously.
Why VINZ?
We look after our people with benefits that are genuinely worth having:
- A paid day off for your birthday
- Free life and trauma insurance
- Your WOFs sorted
- Mates' rates on pre-purchase inspections
- Proper training and career development
- Opportunities across our nationwide network
- A supportive, straight-up team that's always ready for a laugh
About VINZ
We're experts in vehicle inspection, and we're bloody passionate about it. That's because every inspection matters. The work our people do helps keep vehicles safe, roads safer and communities moving throughout Aotearoa.
Whether your background is in light vehicles, heavy vehicles or both, we're interested in the experience and practical know-how you can bring.
The Opportunity
VINZ is a national business, so your career doesn't have to remain parked in one spot.
Whether you want to gain a new qualification, grow your technical skills or explore opportunities around the country, we'll back you with quality training, ongoing development and a team that wants to see you succeed.
What You'll Bring
Ideally, you'll already hold the relevant NZTA Vehicle Inspector authority. If you don't, you'll need the qualifications and experience required to obtain it.
You'll also need:
- A relevant automotive trade qualification or mechanical experience that meets NZTA requirements
- Experience working with light or heavy vehicles
- A full New Zealand driver licence
- A sharp eye for detail
- Strong reliability and sound judgement
- Good customer service skills
- A positive attitude and genuine team spirit
Not sure whether your experience meets the requirements? Check the eligibility criteria through the NZ Transport Agency.
Ready for a Career Change That Passes Inspection?
This is more than another job on the tools. It's an opportunity to get qualified, build a long-term career and play a direct role in keeping Kiwi roads safe.
Bring your light or heavy vehicle experience. We'll help you take it somewhere new.
