About the role
Love the water? Love working with kids? Then dive into this opportunity! Our community is passionate about swimming, and we need enthusiastic instructors to help preschool and school-aged children develop essential life skills.
You'll enjoy an active role at our modern Aquatic Centre, teaching structured lessons. Having a qualification and experience in swim teaching along with a current first aid certificate is desirable; however, fully paid training is available
- Enjoy an active role in our modern Aquatic Centre where you will play an important part in providing our community with the skills they need when in and around water.
- Selwyn Swim School is looking to employ motivated, energetic people who are able to use their initiative and demonstrate excellent communication, reliability, and a commitment to helping others succeed.
- As a Swim School Instructor, you will be responsible for; planning structured and engaging lessons, teaching with encouragement and positive reinforcement, assessing participants to ensure they are improving their swimming ability and reaching milestones.
We have multiple shifts available; you can apply for one or several
Monday to Friday 3.15pm - 6.15pm
Saturday and Sunday 8.15am-1:00pm (includes a 30 - minute unpaid break)
About you
To be successful in this role you will be committed to completing all training required from Wednesday 7 October 9.00am - 4.30pm and Friday 9 October 8.30am - 4.30pm October 2026.
Regular shifts will begin the week of 12 October 2026

If you are short-listed, we will contact you to arrange a trial lesson. Candidates who successfully complete the trial will be invited to a formal interview.
