Night Caregiver - School Boarding House

Term time only | Wednesday and Thursday nights
Are you calm, caring and confident working overnight? We are looking for a dependable Night Caregiver to support up to 60 boarding students in Years 9-13.
This school-term-only role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with young people and can provide a reassuring presence throughout the night. You will help maintain a safe, settled environment and respond calmly when students need support.
Your working hours
- Wednesday, 8.30pm-9.30am Thursday
- Thursday, 8.30pm-8.45am Friday
- 25.15 hours per week during school terms
What the role involves
- Completing a thorough handover with day staff
- Supporting students as they settle for the evening
- Carrying out bedtime checks from 10.10pm
- Responding to illness or other student needs overnight
- Securing the boarding house and setting alarms
- Sleeping on site while remaining available when required
- Providing occasional early wake-up calls
- Setting up the dining room before 7am
- Waking students and helping the morning run smoothly
- Responding appropriately to emergencies, including evacuations
What you will bring
You will be responsible, approachable and comfortable working independently. You will also be able to respond calmly and confidently if an unexpected situation arises.
The successful applicant must complete police vetting and hold, or be willing to obtain, a current First Aid certificate.

- Overnight shifts begin 21 October 2026
