We're seeking an organised and safety-focused Store Person to support our workshop and project teams. In this hands-on role, you'll manage the issue, return, maintenance, and documentation of materials, tools, equipment, and PPE; maintain accurate stores operations; and ensure resources are available to support project delivery.
This permanent, part-time position is based in Wellington and suits someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and values accuracy, teamwork, and safety.
About the Role
As a key member of the Stores team, you will be responsible for the control, issue, return, and documentation of all materials, consumables, tools, and equipment. You'll work closely with workshop personnel, project teams, procurement, and logistics to ensure the right materials are available at the right time.
What You'll Be Doing
- Inventory & Stores Management - Manage inventory, assets, stocktakes, PPE, and stores controls.
- Procurement & Logistics - Maintain stock levels, coordinate goods movement, track orders, and support purchasing.
- Workshop & Project Support - Issue materials and equipment, coordinate resources, and support equipment maintenance.
- Vehicle & Transport Coordination - Manage vehicle compliance and servicing, and complete local deliveries and collections.
- Systems & Documentation - Process ERP transactions and maintain accurate records and documentation.
- Safety & Compliance - Promote safe work practices and ensure compliance with HSE and equipment requirements.
What You'll Bring
Mandatory:
- Class 1 Full Licence
- Computer literacy and experience with inventory management systems
Preferred:
- Previous experience in stores, warehousing, logistics, procurement, or inventory management.
- Forklift endorsement with current OSH certificate.
- Dangerous Goods (DG) endorsement and experience with DG documentation.
- Experience in industrial, engineering, or heavy machinery environments.
- Experience managing assets, PPE, tools, equipment, or plant registers.
- Exposure to purchasing, supplier coordination, goods receipt/dispatch, and order tracking.
- Experience coordinating vehicle fleets or plant maintenance schedules.
