This is a Parental leave cover role for 10.5 months.

Our community loves to swim, and we work with people of all ages. Join Selwyn District Council as our Swim School Manager and take ownership of one of New Zealand's largest and fastest-growing swim schools. You'll lead programme delivery, develop people, drive continuous improvement, and play a key role in helping our community gain essential lifesaving water skills while creating exceptional customer experience This role covers a range of shifts, 7 days a week.

• Passionate about aquatic education and proven in leading successful teams?
• You will have 3-5 years leading a large team and overseeing the operational requirements of a swim school.
• Proven skills in leading a team to achieve the excellent outcomes for our community and organisation.
• Sound ability as a swim teacher in all swim school levels
• Experienced in work force planning.
• Effective and demonstrable communication skills and be able to adapt your communication style to suit the audience.

About you

To be successful in this role you will be committed to seeking and implementing opportunities to improve the swim school programme. You will have proven skills that ensure our swim school programme is running smoothly and developed further for our community.

• Oversee and take responsibility for the operational requirements of Swim School. This is a role that requires strategic oversight and quality improvement skills.
• Accurate and timely grading
• Rebooking all customers
• Invoicing all customers
• Optimising the use of technology within service area
• Pool space planning and usage
• Rostering and cover, some Saturday and/or Sunday morning work will be required
