We're on the lookout for a Water and Wastewater Treatment Operator to join our team and help operate and maintain Council's Water and Wastewater Treatment facilities for the Manawatū district. If you are passionate about delivering top-quality services to our community, this role is for you!

This position requires the appointee to be on a standby roster.

About the role

• Conduct regular maintenance and monitoring of all treatment facilities
• Assist with projects and system upgrades.
• Maintain high safety standards in line with the Health and Safety at Work Act

Applicants will need:

• A National Certificate/Diploma in Water or Wastewater Treatment or be prepared to work towards these qualifications.
• Current full drivers licence.
• Experience managing conventional treatment plants
• Ability to work safely and independently
• Able to deal with pressure situations and maintain professionalism in a public environment
• Have a willingness to work the hours required to deliver on the requirements of the role

This is an ideal opportunity to join the team that manages the core water and wastewater operations for the Manawatū district.

A salary range is $66k-$89k. The salary offered will depend on the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.
