Those little moments are what make teaching swimming so rewarding. We're looking for a Swim Instructor who loves working with children and wants to help them grow into confident, capable swimmers.
We're looking for an enthusiastic and reliable Swim Instructor to join our supportive team. You'll work with children across a range of ages and abilities, delivering fun, engaging lessons while helping each swimmer develop their skills and confidence in the water.
Previous swim teaching experience is great, but it isn't essential, training can be provided for the right person.
What you'll do
- Deliver fun, engaging and confidence-building swimming lessons
- Teach essential swimming and water safety skills
- Adapt lessons to meet the different needs and abilities of children in your classes
- Encourage and celebrate each swimmer's progress
- Build positive relationships with children, parents and caregivers
- Complete lesson administration and keep swimmer information up to date
- Work alongside the wider Makino team to provide a great customer experience
What we're looking for
- Enjoys working with children and helping them succeed
- Is confident, friendly and encouraging
- Has great communication and listening skills
- Is reliable and works well as part of a team
- Is comfortable using computers and learning new systems
- Is willing to learn and develop their swim teaching skills
- Has aquatic or swim teaching experience or is keen to be trained
- Has flexibility to pick up additional shifts when available, including school holiday programmes and daytime lessons
Hours
- Set roster:
- Monday and Wednesday: 3.15pm-6.15pm
- Saturday: 8.45am-1.15pm - with flexibility for these to change
There may also be opportunities to pick up additional hours across Swim School, private lessons and school holiday programmes.

Pre-employment requirements
The successful applicant will be required to complete:
- Police vetting
- Pre-employment drug and alcohol testing
