Based in Whakatū (Nelson), Wakatū Incorporation has approximately 4000 owners who descend from the customary Māori landowners, the whānau and hapu of the Whakatū, Motueka and Mōhua rohe.

We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Administrator who has excellent numeracy skills and can provide effective and efficient accounting services to both internal and external customers.

Mō te tūranga mahi | About the Role

Reporting to the Finance Manager, this Whakatū based role sits within Amo (Business Service Centre that includes; Finance, IT, and HR), who provide a high level of professional business and financial administration support across Wakatū Incorporation.

The Accounts Payable Administrator is responsible for ensuring invoices are processed accurately and recovery action is taken in a timely manner, maintain the integrity of the Group creditors and debtors ledgers and is responsible to reconcile group bank accounts.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Ensures electronic banking payments are completed as required.
  • Processing debtor invoices accurately and ensures recovery action is taken in a timely manner.
  • Maintains the Group creditors and debtors' ledgers and will be responsible to reconcile Group bank accounts.
  • Ensures sales credit note documentation is kept to audit standards.

Mō koe | About you

The key skills and attributes we are looking for are:

  • A minimum of two years' experience working in an Accounts Payable role or similar position.
  • Excellent numeracy skills and has a high attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Suite of applications including Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Basic accounting/bookkeeping knowledge including accounting software, (experience using Business Central is preferable but not essential).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Adaptability and flexibility
  • The ability to take the initiative and prioritise workload.
